Fully recharged and tagged fire extinguisher after Paragon's annual inspection — ready for service

Fire Extinguisher Recharge & Annual Inspection

Routine annual inspection flagged an extinguisher that needed maintenance and recharge. Paragon recharged the unit, tagged it, and put it back in service.

Dallas–Fort Worth, TX 2026

What the annual catches

Most extinguishers pass the annual visual without comment. The ones that don’t usually fail on the same handful of things: gauge reading low, seal broken, hydrostatic date expired, signs of corrosion or physical damage. This unit’s pressure had drifted below the green band and was due for a recharge cycle.

The service

The extinguisher came back to our shop, was inspected internally, recharged, weighed, sealed, and re-tagged. Back on the wall the same week with a fresh annual tag.

What’s on a Paragon tag

Date inspected, technician initials, next due date. The tag is the AHJ’s primary visual cue during a walkthrough — illegible or missing tags are the fastest way to fail a fire-marshal walk, even when the underlying device is fine.
